Obituary of Colin Phil Nelson

Colin Phil Nelson, 58, of Davin, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, February 1, 2012, while enroute to Logan Regional Medical Center at Logan, after an extended illness.
He was born February 11, 1953, at Pax, the son of the late Orville and Carol Williams Nelson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two infant brothers, Perry and William Nelson.
Colin was a retired coal miner formerly employed with Pine Creek Mining at Elk Creek. He was a member of the UMWA District 17 and was of the Protestant faith. He was very involved with the Man Little League for many years during the 1980's and 1990's. When he was able, Colin enjoyed riding his Harley. He was a 1972 graduate of Man High School where he was the Drum Major of the Man High Hillbilly Marching Band.
Those left to cherish his memory are one daughter, Marla (Chris) Johnson of Davin; two sons, Joseph Nelson of Davin and Colin "Philip" Nelson II of Mallory; four grandchildren, Austin, Riley, and Corey Johnson of Davin and Brionna Crawford of Combs Addition; his ex-wife and life long friend, Marlene Crawford of Combs Addition; several uncles, aunts, and cousins; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 5, 2012, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home Chapel at Man with Rev. Bryan C. Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home also.
