Obituary of Billy Joe Morris

Billy Joe Morris, Sr. Of Lundale, WV Billy Joe Morris, Sr., 71, of Lundale, departed this life Wednesday, December 28, 2011, at his home. He was born June 8, 1940, at Logan, the son of the late Bill and Ruth Jarrell Morris. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Billy Morris, Jr. Billy was a rock truck driver who retired from Arch of WV with 20 years of service. He also worked for 24 years as an underground coal miner with Amherst Coal Company and Diamond Shamrock Coal Company. He was a loving father who was devoted to his children and grandchildren. Those left to cherish his memory are two children, Dani Fernandez of Accoville and Robert (Julie) Morris of Spice Creek; seven grandchildren, Joey Morris of Duncan Fork, Corey Toler of Huff Creek, Brandon Morris of OH, Mitchell Morris, Bethanie Morris, and Dylan Morris, all of Spice Creek, and Jared Morris of Bruno; three great-grandchildren, Chloe, Jacob, and Maleigha; one brother, James Stanley Morris of Braeholm; five sisters, JoAnn (Robert) Taylor of IL, Tonya Morris and Janet Ruskowski, both of VA, Linda (B. R.) Hook of SC, and Peggy Moore of FL; and many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on 1 p.m. Saturday, December 31, 2011, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. David Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill. Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Friday at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man and one hour prior to services. Pall bearers will be grandsons and nephews.
