Obituary of Clarence Herbert Adkins

Clarence Herbert Adkins Jr. Of Robinette, WV Clarence Herbert "Herbie" Adkins Jr., 70, of Robinette passed away Saturday, December 24, 2011, at Logan Regional Medical Center after a short illness. Born May 30, 1941, at Robinette, he was the son of the late Clarence Herbert Sr. and Georgia Ann Smith Adkins. Also preceding him in death are his wife, Vetelene Tudor Adkins; his companion, Ester Burgess; two brothers, Ronald Adkins and Ruford Adkins; and two sisters, Lois Hatfield and Loraine Adkins. Herbert was a disabled coal miner formerly employed with Pittston Coal Company at Lorado. He was a member of the UMWA District 17. Those left to cherish his memory are his dog, "Pinkie" whom he loved dearly; five sisters, Jean Williams and Zola "Doodle" Conner, both of Robinette, Eunice Bragg of Amherstdale, Francis "Lulu" (Vince) Vincent of Chesapeake, and JoAnn Grimmett McNeely (Darrell Lockhart) of Iager; a special niece, Yvonne Spence (Sammy) Stacy of Mallory; two nephews who helped care for him, Terry Dale Spence of Robinette and Larry "Oouchie" (Carolyn) Spence of Stowe; and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. At his request there will be no services, his remains have been cremated, and his cremains will be interred in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
