Grady "Pooh" Ferrell
Of Crown, WV
Grady Charles "Pooh" Ferrell, 56, of Crown, went to be with the Lord December 19, 2011, at St. Mary's Cornerstone Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
He was born December 27, 1954, at Logan, the son of the late Wilson Kenneth and Maudie Marie Frye Ferrell.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and their wives, Wilson "Jr." and Dorothy "Ma" Ferrell, Jackie Lee Ferrell, and Ellis "Eddie" Ferrell; and one infant sister, Geraldine Ferrell.
Grady was a retired coal miner. He was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church. When he was able, Grady enjoyed 4-wheeling, putting together collections of old items, and working on cars and trucks. He loved spending time with his family.
Those left to cherish his memory are two daughters, Kristy (Jesse) White of Wayne and Jessica (Steven) Griffith of Charlotte, NC; three grandsons, Jesse "Jay" White, Jr., Austin White, and Little Caleb White, all of Wayne; three sisters, Birdie Sowards of Huntington, Peggy Tomblin of Rock Port, TX, and Gloria Anderson of Crown; three friends who were like family, James Dowdy, Clifford Maynard, and Jimmy Poe; the mother of his children, Theresa Cline of Gilbert; his very special mother-in-law, Shelba Cline of Gilbert; special friends, Caleb Vance and Melissa Vance; his special caregivers, Jimmy Ferrell and Robert "Punkin" Anderson; three sisters-in-law, Rose Ferrell, Geraldine Ferrell, and Debbie Ferrell; and one special friend, Charles "Buddy" Ellis, along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, December 22, 2011, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. Freddie Clay and Rev. Jimmy Belcher officiating. Burial will follow in White's Cemetery at Crown.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and one hour prior to services.
