Lovadis "Bobbie" Gillispie
Of Bruno, WV
Lovadis "Bobbie" Gillispie, 83, of Bruno, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 16, 2014, from Logan Regional Medical Center, after an extended illness.
She was born on June 27, 1931, at Lacky, KY, the daughter of the late Price and Effie Ratliff McDaniels.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harvie "Bear Track" Gillispie; two grandsons, John Payne, Jr. and Larry Walls; her sisters and brothers, Price, Jr., Edgar, Jack, Butch, Buster, Mack, Virginia, Lucy, Emmazell, Effie, and Glenda.
Bobbie was a retired cook formerly employed with the Logan County Board of Education. She was a long time member of the Sandlick Freewill Baptist Church. A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Bobbie will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish her memory are four children, Shirley (John) Payne of LeTart Falls, OH, Rev. Woodrow (Vicki) Gillispie of Bruno, Donald (Kym) Gillispie of Christian, and Annette (Doug) Trent of Wilkinson; eight grandchildren, Jeannine, Wendi, Brandi, Justin, Donald, Jr., Eddie, Savannah, and Tyler; 15 great-grandchildren, Morgan, Paige, Chase, Addison, Nijule, Xander, Talitha, Ariel, Noah, Jayland, McKinlee, Gavyn, Taylin, Justin, and Anthony; many nieces and nephews; and her caregiver, Kelly Hernandez; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, August 19, 2014, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Cantrell and Rev. Tilly Walls officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home and one hour prior to services.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man.
