Of Kistler, WV
Mary Lou Simms, 66, of Kistler, departed this world Tuesday, November 29, 2011, from Cabell-Huntington, after a long illness.
She was born July 2, 1945, at Man, the daughter of the late James and Edna McCune Ellis.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded by one sister, Regina Ellis; her grandparents, Ulysses Grant "Dude" and Marybelle Ellis and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas McCune.
Mary was a home maker and was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed working cross word puzzles, watching lifetime television, and caring for her canine companion, Jizzie.
Those left to cherish her memory are three children, Rose Gibson of Henlawson, Belinda Lawrence of Greenvalley, and Robert Simms of Kistler; eight grandchildren, Derrick Gibson of Kistler, Richard Lawrence and Kevin (Amber) Lawrence, both of Greenvalley, Teara Marcum of Gilbert, Ronnie Marcum of Cyclone, Nikki Morgan of Logan, and Dustin Simms and Joanna Simms, both of Richie County; three great-grandbabies, Zachary Adkins, Bryson Lawrence, and Grace Simms; four special cousins, Janice Hall, Diana Hall, and David Lee Burgess, all of Greenville, and Susie Hall of Madison; and a special great-nephew, Caleb "Fingers" Gilco; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from Noon until 3 p.m. Monday, December 5, 2011, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man, where a small service will begin at 2:30 p.m. Burial will follow in Browning-Grimmett Cemetery at Sand Lick.
Pall bearers will be family and friends.
