Danny Ray Ellis
of Bruno, WV
Danny Ray Ellis, 55, of Bruno, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, September 21, 2011, from St. Francis Hospital at Charleston following a long illness.
He was born December 16, 1955, at Logan, a son of the late Donald and Margaret Mounts Ellis.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronnie and Curtis Ellis; and one grandson, Jermia David Barnett.
Danny Ray was disabled from Patriot Coal Company. He worked for 17 1/2 years as a pinner operator. He also worked for Man Clothing, Hammer Lumber Company, and Cashion Water Company. Danny Ray was a 1974 graduate of Man High School.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 37 years, Petunia Fowler Ellis; one son, Danny (Doris) Ellis of Bruno; one daughter, Judith (Paul) Van Horn of Hiddenite, NC; five grandsons, Christopher Mullins of Malo, WA, Johnathon Preston II and Blake Preston, both of Hiddenite, NC, and Danny Ellis II and Dalton Barnett, both of Bruno; one granddaughter, Jacklynn Barnett of Bruno; one sister, Betty Cook of Davin; one brother, Terry (Lynn) Ellis of Greenville; two nephews, Jeffery (Linda) Ellis of OH and Terry (Tiffany) Ellis II of Charleston; one niece, Alison (Robert) Rose of Davin; four great nephews; two great-nieces; one special friend, Bill Mays; and one special aunt, Edna Mounts of Mt. Erie, NC along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Sunday, September 25, 2011, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home Chapel at Man with speaker A.B. Gibson. Burial will follow in Franklin Cemetery at Branchland.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until 12 noon on Sunday.
Pall bearers will be Walter Fowler, Ronnie Wells, Roy Hopkins, Joey White, Bill Mays, James Watkins, Paul Chambers, Norman Matthews, and Matthew Chambers.
