Obituary of Patricia Gay Williamson Agent

Patricia Gay Williamson Agent Of Man, WV Patricia Gay Williamson Agent, 79, of Man, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, September 6, 2011, from Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston, after a long illness. She was born November 12, 1931, at Taplin, the daughter of the late Aley and Rebecca Frye Williamson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Eleanor Chambers, Audrey Griffin, Shirley Ramey, and Ethel Carroll; and one brother, Donald Williamson. Patty was a 1950 graduate of Man High School and was a member of the Old Man High Alumni Association. After graduation, she went to Chicago, IL where she worked as a stenographer. Returning to WV in 1972, Patty worked at Libby Owen Ford at Charleston until she was disabled. Then she moved to Man where she could live closer to her family. Patty was a member of the Logan Chapter of the Eastern Star where she had served as a former pianist. She was a member of the First Baptist Church at Man. Patty enjoyed writing poems and composing songs. Those left to cherish her memory are three children, Sheldon Ellis and his wife, Amy, of Davin, Billy Carter and his wife, Teresa, of West Hamlin, and Eleanor Wallen and her husband, Gary, of Weaverville, NC; two sisters, Mildred Clay of Man and Opal McMellon of Aiken, SC; one brother, Homer Williamson of Man; 17 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren; along with a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will commence at 1 p.m. Friday, September 9, 2011, at the First Baptist Church at Man with Rev. Clyde Robertson officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Friday at the church. Pall bearers will be family and friends.
