Jackie Lee Paugh
Of Mallory, WV
Jackie Lee Paugh, 81, of Mallory, joined his wife in their heavenly home on Thursday, August 4, 2011, from Logan Regional Medical Center, after an extended illness.
He was born April 2, 1930, at Ripley, the son of the late Orville and Geneva Starcher Paugh.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Georgia Brickles Paugh who passed away March 8, 2011; and two brothers, Orville Jim Paugh and Hollie Paugh.
Jackie was a retired security guard formerly employed with Hammer Lumber Company. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. An outdoorsman, Jackie enjoyed fishing and hunting. Devoted to his family, he was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Those left to cherish his memory are five children, William Paugh, Garnet Paugh, and Randall (Sylvia) Paugh, all of Mallory, and Barbara (Frederick) Lawrence and Shirley (Rodney) Harrison, both of Cyclone; a step-son whom he raised, Wandell “Pie” Lusk of Cyclone; one brother, Randall Eugene Paugh of Mullins; eight grandchildren, William Paugh II and Michael Paugh, both of Mallory, Jessica Paugh of OH, April (Larry) Browning and Jacky (Heidi) Lawrence, both of Cyclone, Cindy (Kevin) Sponaugle of Brandywine, Carrie (Aaron) Farley of Virginia Beach, VA, and Rodney (Sarina) Harrison of Cyclone; 10 great-grandchildren, Little Mikie, Ashland, Ryan, Destiny, Dixie, Dianna, Kelsey, Kaley, Jodie, and Baby Lawrence on the way; and several nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Monday, August 8, 2011, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. Richard Gibson officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby where military graveside rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post 103 and the VFW Post 6153 of Chapmanville and the DAV Post 39 of Harts.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and one hour prior to services.
Pall bearers will be family and friends.
