Obituary of Kenneth Lester

Kenneth “BUB” Lester Of Davin, WV Kenneth “BUB” Lester, 41, of Davin, departed this life Tuesday, May 31, 2011, while on the job at Twisted Gun Compression Station in Wharncliffe, after a sudden heart attack. He was born February 8, 1970, at Cleveland, Ohio, a son of H.L. (Popeye) and Pauline Ellis Lester of Davin. BUB was preceded in death by his grandparents, Leonard and Vicie Gollie Ellis and Tilden and Oma Lester; and several other family members. He worked as a senior compressor technician at EQT with a bunch of great men for over 10 years. BUB was a loving husband, father, and son. Devoted to his family, he enjoyed spending time with “his girls” (daughters, Haleigh and Kenley). An avid outdoorsman, BUB enjoyed fishing at Smith Mountain Lake with his buddies and father-in-law, James, and raising a garden with his Dad (Popeye). He also enjoyed hunting and 4 wheeling. Those left to cherish many wonderful and humorous memories, in addition to his parents, are his wife of nine years, Tabatha Evans Lester of Davin; two daughters, Haleigh and Kenley, both at home; one sister, Balinda Summers of Davin; one nephew, Owen Summers of Davin; one sister-in-law, Teria (Matt) Hopkins of Logan; his parents-in-law who loved him as a son, James and Marlene Evans of Davin; along with a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will commence at 1 p.m. Sunday, June 5, 2011, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. Van Collins officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby. Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home and one hour prior to services. Active pall bearers will be Benny McKinney, Darrell Cline, Noel Cogar, Clark Perry, Brandon King, Tracey Cline, Mike Keen, Wetzel Davis, and Eric Decker.
