Iva Jean Lambert
Of Christian, WV
Iva Jean Lambert, 80, of Christian, formerly of Braeholm, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 15, 2011, from the Imogene Dolan Hospice House in Huntington, after a short illness.
She was born February 13, 1931, at Wayne, a daughter of the late Grover Cleveland and Sara Ann Merritt Mullins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Lambert; one son, Rodney Gerald Lambert; four sisters, Alta Ferrell, Alfa Proffitt, Orpha Ramey, and Ella Mullins; two brothers, Merlin Mullins and Arthur Mullins; and one grandson, Roger Walter Lambert.
Born and raised in Wayne County, Jean graduated from Wayne High School in 1949. She retired in 1993 from Man Appalachian Regional Hospital after 30 years of service. Jean was also a member of the Man ARH auxiliary. A member of the Lundale Free Will Baptist Church for 41 years, Jean had served as a past Church Treasurer and was active in the Ladies Aide where she had served as a past President and Secretary. An inspiration to her family, she was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
Those left to cherish her memory are four sons, Roger (Patty) Lambert of Chicago, IL, Randy (Damaris) Lambert of East Bank, Ronald (Terri) Lambert of Man, and Roy (Allison) Lambert of Man; eight grandchildren, Rodney Lambert Jr., Anthony Lambert, Christopher Lambert, Larry Lambert, Rebekah Lambert, Raymond Lambert, Joseph Lambert, and Joshuah Lambert; 14 great-grandchildren; and her church family along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 20, 2011, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home Chapel at Man with Rev. Bill Cantrell and Rev. Bobby Adkins officiating. Burial will follow in Skeens Cemetery at East Lynn.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and one hour prior to services.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
