Charles H. Jones Jr.
Of Kistler, WV
Charles H. Jones Jr., 61, of Kistler, departed this life Sunday, March 27, 2011, after a long illness.
He was born March 8, 1950, at War Eagle, the son of the late Charles H. Sr. and Jean Stone Jones.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Benjamin “Benny” Stafford; and one nephew, Gary “Tee” Brown Jr.
Charles was a retired disabled coal miner employed with Arch of WV for 29 years. He was a member of the UMWA and was a U.S. Army veteran. Charles was of the Baptist faith. He was an avid WVU sports fan and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 29 years, Elizabeth “Liz” Mitchell Jones of Kistler; one daughter, Jessica Danielle Jones at home; one son, Kenneth Daniel (Jessica) Workman of Caldwell, OH; two grandsons, Joshua Daniel Workman of Lorado and Cutler Gavin Workman of Caldwell, OH; one special nephew, Nathan Mitchell of Kistler; four sisters, Connie (Ellis) Gibson of Kistler, Lillian (Rodney) Blankenship of Summersville, Sue (Gary) Brown of Davin, and Patricia (Rev. Walter) Grimmett of Verner; and many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will commence at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2011, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. Walter Grimmett officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and one hour prior to services.
Pall bearers will be family and friends.
Honorary pall bearers will be Bobby Brown, Tommy Crosby, and James Mitchell.
