Johnny “J.P.” Messer
Of Accoville
Johnny “J.P.” Messer, 35, of Accoville, passed away Friday, March 25, 2011 at Logan Regional Medical Center after a long battle with cancer.
J.P. was born February 11, 1976 at Man, a son of Wess and Linda Messer of Accoville, with whom he made his home.
Preceding in death were his paternal grandmother Viola Messer; and maternal grandparents Ira “Jack” and Gladys Farley.
In addition to his parents, those left to cherish his memory are his grandfather Aubrey “Hobie” Messer; three brothers Bobby (Angie) Messer of Accoville, Shane (Tracy) Messer of Robinette, and Todd (Stephanie) Messer of Kistler; his uncles Aubrey “Peanut” (Debbie) Messer of Dyersburg, TN, Matt Farley of Kistler, Bill (Peggy) Farley, and Jody “Big Man” (Elvira) Farley, both of Montpelier, OH, Joby “Little Man” (Kat) Farley of Oceana, and David Workman of Mount Lookout; his aunt Garnett (R.J.) Riley of Crites; nieces and nephews, Amy (Jonathan) Padgett of Crites, Stacy and Rachel Messer of Robinette, Derek, Reese, and Tate Messer of Accoville, and Erikka and Jacob Messer of Kistler; a very special girl he loved and considered his own, Mika Maynard; his dog Buddy who comforted him throughout his illness; and a host of other family and friends which he held close to his heart.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 28, 2011 at Becco United Baptist Church at Becco with Rev. Bill Runyon and Rev. Denver McClellan officiating. Entombment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Sunday at the church and one hour prior to services.
Pall bearers will be Bobby, Shane, Todd, and Derek Messer, David Burgess, Cletis Conn, and Rex Browning.
Honorary pall bearers will be Shawn Harper, Nevada Davis, and Paul David Browning.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man.
