James Ronald Combs
Of Man, WV
James Ronald Combs, 57, of Man, departed this life Monday, March 21, 2011, at Logan Regional Medical Center after a short illness.
He was born March 27, 1953, at Logan, a son of Paul Combs of Titusville, FL and the late Edell Curtis Combs.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by one sister, Patricia Combs; his maternal grandparents, Oval and Creta Stepp Curtis; and his paternal grandparents, Steven and Zetta Allen Combs.
Ronald was a disabled coal miner formerly employed with Island Creek Coal Company. He was a member of the UMWA and was of the Baptist faith. An avid car enthusiast, Ronald enjoyed drag racing, dirt track racing, and watching NASCAR. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.
Those left to cherish his memory, in addition to his father, are his wife of 15 years, Lois Albright Combs of Man; three daughters, Rhonda Combs (Andrew) Wick of South Charleston and Brooke Combs (Jeremy) Cline and Rachelle Combs (Bobby) Nester, both of South Man; two grandsons, Aidan Nester and Carson Cline, both of South Man; two sisters, Mary Lou (Richard) Nunley of Titusville, FL and Barbara (Dickie) Lusk of Twin Falls; several nieces and nephews, and his faithful canine companions, Rex and Bear, along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will commence at 1 p.m. Friday, March 25, 2011, at the Greenbranch Free Will Baptist Church at Man with Rev. Johnny Hatfield assisted by Rev. James Ellis officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the Greenbranch Free Will Baptist Church and one hour prior to services.
Pall bearers will be family and friends.
