Sandra Gwenn Lester
Of Verner, WV
Sandra Gwenn Lester, 60, of Verner, went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 18, 2011, from Williamson Memorial Hospital, following an extended illness.
She was born March 1, 1950, at Verner, the daughter of Lucy Wilson Lester of Verner and the late Roy Lester.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by one brother, Harry Glenn Lester; her maternal grandparents, John and Octavia Lester Wilson; and her paternal grandparents, Leonard and Jane Browning Lester.
Sandra was a retired administrative secretary formerly employed with Man ARH for 20 years. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and friend. In her retirement, she enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles, crocheting, and playing board games with her family.
Those left to cherish her memory, in addition to her mother, are one son, Alan Roy Lester of Verner; one sister, Brenda (Herbert) Saunders of Combs Addition; three grandchildren, Alan Roy Lester, Jr., Avalee Ranae Lester, Ashby Ray Lester, all of Shady Spring; one niece, Alicia Renee Saunders of Combs Addition; two nephews, Justin Roy Saunders of Montgomery and Patrick Sean (Katie) Lester of Atlanta, GA; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will commence at 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 22, 2011, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. Walter Grimmett officiating. Burial will follow in Browning-Dye Cemetery at Verner.
Visitation will be held from 6- 9 p.m. Monday at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home and one hour prior to services at the funeral home also.
Pall bearers will be Randy Dye, Bob Griffith, Russell Tiller, Turl Browning, Tom Lester, and Vaughn Queen.
