Jerry Berthel James Daugherty
Of Kopperston, WV
Jerry Berthel James “Dirty Dan” Daugherty, 47, of Kopperston, joined his mother and father in heaven on Thursday, February 16, 2011, at home, after a long illness.
He was born April 8, 1963, at Welch, a son of the late Julian Lynnard and Nyrmal Kizzy Blankenship Daugherty.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one niece, Nyrmal Ann Daugherty.
He was disabled and when able was a shade tree mechanic. “Dirty Dan” loved to fish, hunt, and camp.
Those left to cherish his memory are three daughters, Melinda Ann (James) Blankenship of Kopperston, Anna Ellen (Chris) Tolliver of Cabin Creek, and Jerri Lynn (Ronald Morgan) Daugherty of Glen Fork; one son, Joshua James Daugherty of Kopperston; two sisters, Ivy (Vaughn) Osborne of Crouches Farm and Robin (Jerry) Hatfield of Coal Mtn.; four brothers, Johnny (Ethel) Daugherty of Pineville, Joseph Daugherty of Josh Fork, Matthew (Shelia) Daugherty of Kopperston, and Julain Daugherty, Jr. of Oceana; four grandchildren, Destiny Gail Blankenship, Brooklyn, Jacob, and Garrett; special friend, Kevin Stinnett of Lynco; a special aunt and uncle, Susie and Howard Blankenship of Simon; and many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will commence at 1 p.m. Monday, February 21, 2011, at the Apostolic House of Faith at Long Branch with Rev. Denny May and Rev. Jonas Trent officiating. Burial will follow in the Kopperston Community Cemetery at Kopperston.
Friends may call after 6 p.m. Saturday until 1 p.m. Monday at the church.
Pall bearers will be family and friends.
