James H. Duncan Of Accoville, WV James Henry Duncan, 80, of Accoville, went to be with the Lord Sunday, January 23, 2011, from his home surrounded by his family. He was born October 22, 1930, at Lundale, a son of the late Robert “Bud” and Jessie Leverton Duncan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, James Robert “Robin” Duncan; two sisters, Joyce Dials and Virginia Duncan; one brother, Arnold Duncan; and one great-granddaughter, Kelsey Mae Savage. James was a retired coal miner and a member of UMWA District 17. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served in the Korean War. An accomplished singer and guitarist, James along with his wife, Fran, founded the Crown Jubileers. During their music ministry they traveled and sang at various churches far and wide where they touched many hearts. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 58 years, Frances “Fran” Wingler Duncan of Accoville; one son, Keith (Patty) Duncan of Accoville; five grandchildren, Keeley Duncan of Accoville, Brandon Duncan of Accoville and his girlfriend, Taylor Grimmett, Savannah Duncan of Cross Lanes and her fiancé, Ben Ellis, Jamie Duncan of Man, Melanie (Jason Chafin) Duncan of Madison, and Michael Walden of NC; five great-grandchildren, Alex, Aiden, and Ayce of Madison, and Chandler and Victoria of Man; one sister, Elva Roach of Chapmanville; one brother, Harold Duncan of CA; his buddy, David Bragg of Accoville; a wonderful caregiver and friend, Lil Solomon of Amherstdale; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Louann and Allen Workman of Charleston, Lorraine and Red Elkins of Amherstdale, Mildred Perry of MI, Madeline McCoy of Huntington, Bill and Bea Wingler of Kistler, Fred Wingler of Mallory, Ralph and Mavis Wingler of Chapmanville, and Bobby Wingler of OH; along with a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will commence at 12 Noon Wednesday, January 26, 2011, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home Chapel at Man with Rev. Roland Cook and Rev. Buddy Hager officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby, where military graveside rites will be conducted by VFW Post 6153 and Amer. Legion Post 103 of Chapmanville and DAV Post 39 of Harts. Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and one hour prior to services. Pall bearers will be Rick Workman, Teddy Workman, Greg Elkins, Tony Elkins, Ben Ellis, Jason Chafin, and Steve Meade. Honorary pall bearers will be Allen Workman, Red Elkins, and David Bragg.
