Obituary of James Earl Pelfrey

James Earl Pelfrey Of Cyclone, WV James Earl Pelfrey, 65, of Cyclone, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 5, 2014, at the Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, after an extended illness. He was born on February 2, 1949, at Man, the son of Nell (Jerry) Taddeo of Tom's River, NJ and the late James Edward Pelfrey. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Alonzo and Emma Gibson and Ezra and Pearl Pelfrey. Earl loved to witness for the Lord and watch Christian TV channels. His favorite pastime was fishing and hunting with his cousin, Jack Burgess, who was like a brother to him. Earl was an Army veteran of the Viet Nam War. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Gladys Pelfrey; one son, Jason (Samantha) Tye of Winfield; four step-daughters, Shawna (Shawn) Cox of Oak Hill, Stacie (Kris) Farrell and Gina (Sam) Coakley, both of Danville, and Jamie Maynard of Lundale; one sister, Barbara (Tony) Caratozzolo of Barnegat, NJ; one half-sister, Denise Taddeo of Florham Park, NJ; two nieces, Christina and Marrissa Bellucci, both of NJ; one nephew, Frank (Karen) Bellucci of NY; one great-niece, Marlena Bellucci; one great-nephew, Frankie Bellucci of NY; 13 grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2014, at the Davin Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Hatfield and Rev. Earl Robinson officiating. Entombment will follow at the Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill where military honors will be conducted by the VFW Post 6153 and American Legion Post 103 of Chapmanville and DAV Post 39 of Harts. Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at the church and one hour prior to services at the church also. Honorary pall bearer will be Jack Burgess. Active pall bearers will be Mike Gibson, Kenny Gibson, Ronald Copley, Jason Tye, Mike Wingler, and Dennis Bryant.
