Obituary of Carlos Barker

Carlos Barker Of Stowe, WV Carlos Barker, 67, of Stowe, went to be with his Heavenly Father, Tuesday, October 26, 2010, from Logan Regional Medical Center after a long illness. He was born February 22, 1943, at Mud River, a son of the late Basil and Pearl Fowler Barker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold Barker and Jerry Barker. Carlos was a retired coal miner and a member of UMWA. Devoted to his family, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 48 years, Barbara Barker of Stowe; four children, Sherry (Mike) Adkins of Stowe, Carolyn (Oouchie) Spence of Stowe, Carlos Barker Jr. of Conway, SC, and Jeremy Ross of Stowe; One brother, Carl (Elaine) Barker of Kistler; one sister, Imogene (David) Blair of Neibert; two sisters in law, Peggy Barker of Stowe and Shelby Jean Barker of IN; three grand children, Candi Walker of Stowe, Amanda (Larry) Baisden of Robinette, and Tera Ross of Hickory, NC; five great-grandchildren; along with a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 30, 2010, at the Lundale Free Will Baptist Church at Lundale with Rev. Daniel Dean and Rev. Bobby Adkins officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby. Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Friday at the church and one hour prior to services. Pall bearers will be family and friends.
