Berry Neal “Hawk” Frye
Of Hunt, WV
Berry Neal “Hawk” Frye, 55, of Hunt, went to be with his heavenly father Tuesday, October 19, 2010, from Cleveland Clinic at Cleveland, OH after a courageous battle with heart disease.
He was born August 24, 1955, at Man, a son of the late Thomas Emery and Anna Marcum Frye.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Ronald Emery Frye; and one infant sister, Linda Carol Frye.
Berry “Hawk” was a disabled bus driver formerly employed with Logan-Mingo Mental Health. He formerly worked for the Triadelphia Bit Company when it was owned by Travis Grimmett. Berry “Hawk” was a 1974 graduate of Man High School. He was a member of the Bright Star Free Will Baptist Church where he served as the Sunday school superintendent. Berry “Hawk” loved people especially his brothers and sisters in Christ and enjoyed riding his motorcycle. Devoted to his family, he was a wonderful husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of almost 32 years, Delena Cheryl Lowe Frye of Hunt; two beloved sons, Jason Robert (Sabrina) Frye of Mitchell Heights and Matthew Neal Frye at home; twin brothers, Freddy (Sherry) Frye of Lorado and Teddy (Nancy) Frye of Hunt; one sister, Eloise (Johnny) Hill of Braeholm; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law who loved him very much, Connie Lowe of Gilbert, Ernest and Martha Lowe of South Point, OH, Jerry and Linda Lowe of Cross Lanes, Teresa and James Vance of Ethel, Greta Lowe of Man, Joy Lowe of Taplin, and Carolyn and John Francis of Man; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 23, 2010, at the Bright Star Free Will Baptist Church at Melville with Rev. James Vance and Rev. George Leese officiating. Burial will follow in Asbury Cemetery at East Lynn.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Friday at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man and one hour prior to services at the church.
Pall bearers will be family and friends.
Honorary pall bearers will be his brothers in Christ at Bright Star Free Will Baptist Church, his special buddy, Charles Chandler, Jonathan Ellis, Charles “Buddy” Ellis, Johnny Meade, Leonard “Buddy” Ellis, Millard Cochran, and Preacher David Campbell.
