Obituary of Janice Lea Ellis

Janice Lea Ellis Of Bruno, WV Janice Lea Lester Ellis, 81, of Bruno, departed this life Sunday, October 17, 2010, from the home of her great-nephew, Terry Robbins, at Bruno and is now at peace with the Lord. She was born February 11, 1929, at Christian, the daughter of the late Ula and Elsie Grimmett Lester. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Linford Ellis; one son, Stephen Lynn Ellis; one daughter, Ramona Kay Toler; and two sisters. Janice retired from the Logan County Board of Education where she taught school for 38 years at Christian Grade School. She was a 1946 graduate of Man High School, a member of the National Education Association, the WV Educators Association, and was a faithful supporter of the Bruno Church of God. Janice was a devoted mother and grandmother. Those left to cherish her memory are two granddaughters, Heather Denise Browning and Kendra (Jim) Walker, both of Bruno; one sister, Helen Lucille Fraley of Columbus, OH; two brothers, Charles (Shirley) Lester of Muncie, IN and Windall (Betty Jo) Lester of Columbus, OH and FL; a special cousin with whom she was very close, Carmella Toler of Man; and many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 21, 2010, at the Bruno Church of God at Bruno with Rev. Roger Frye officiating. Burial will follow in the Browning-Dye Cemetery at Verner. Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at the church and one hour prior to services at the church also.
