Molly Vance Brown Matz
Of Davin, WV
Molly Vance Brown Matz went to be with the Lord Sunday, October 10, 2010, at the Logan Regional Medical Center.
She was born July 27, 1929, at Vance’s Bottom in Logan Co., a daughter of the late Millard and Essie Cook Vance.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, Luke Brown who passed away in 1970: her second husband, Louis Matz who passed away in 2009; one infant daughter, Elizabeth Brown; one sister, Faye Tilley; and five brothers, Blaine, Russell, Homer, Jack, and Harold Vance.
Molly was a wonderful mother and friend to all who knew her. She was a home maker and a long time member of the Davin Baptist Church.
Those left to cherish her memory are four sons, Tyke and Kathy Brown and Bob and Rose Brown, all of Vance’s Bottom, Dean and Kathy Brown of Parma Heights, OH, and Danny and Gail Brown of Cyclone; one step-daughter, Barbara and Dave Watson of Ritchie County; two brothers, Brother Ronald “Nig” and Jeanette Vance of Davin and Donald Vance of Charleston; and one sister, Lake and Danny Boswell of TN. She was blessed with ten grandchildren, Debra, Kevin, Kassondra, Roy “Lil Man” and Crystal Brown, all of Vance’s Bottom, John Brown, Gina and Glenn Snoddy, and Deanna Day, all of Parma, OH; Chris Brown of Cyclone and Brenda Brown of Kopperston. Thirteen great-grandchildren, Gunnar, Tristan, Jayden, Bobby Braden, Skylar, Daniele, Nick, Zach, Joey, Tyler, Sydney, Dean, and Mason.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, October 15, 2010, at the Davin Baptist Church at Davin with Pastor Johnny Hatfield officiating. Entombment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the Davin Baptist Church and one prior to services at the church also.
Friends and family will serve as pall bearers.
