Of Amherstdale, WV
Freda Lucille Linville, 88, of Amherstdale, passed away Monday, August 30, 2010, at Logan Regional Medical Center, after a lingering illness.
She was born June 6, 1922, in Tennessee, a daughter of the late Schuyler Hale and Grace Bennett Moore.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Casey George Linville; two sons, James Alfred and Leon Linville; one daughter, Karen Sue Linville; and four brothers, Harold, Alfred, Edward, and Junior Moore.
Lucille enjoyed spending time with her family, the companionship of several beloved dogs throughout the years, sewing, jig-saw puzzles, and maintaining the flowers in her yard. She was very proud of her beautiful Seven Sisters Rose bush that she had tended for over 60 years. Together with her husband, Casey, she was active in area soft ball and the Triadelphia Little League program. She was a former member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
Those left to cherish her memory are one son, Howard Paul “Butch” Linville of Mallory, one daughter, Pamela Linville of Gilman Bottom, and one sister, Noreen Gannon of Ft. Myers, FL. She was the proud “Mawmaw” of Leigh Ann Hawkins of Whitman, Richard “Pee Wee” (Lakein) Linville of Accoville, and Sheryl Jean (Steve) Bulmer of Jacksonville, FL. She was lovingly called “Granny” by Shannon (Patrick) Hensley of Robinette and Kasey Lynn (Jon) Linville of Yuma. The special name of “MawMaw Choo-Choo” was given to her by David “Bruiser” (Annie) Corns of Spring Valley, William “Joey” (Amanda) Corns of South Man, and Rebecca “Becky” (Ben) Timmons of Aurora, OH. She was great-grandma to Kaitlyn Linville, Leah Jonjock, Brandon Bulmer, Devin Corns, Kailey Corns, Kaitlyn Lunsford, Shelby Lunsford, Loren Corns, Carley Timmons, Samantha Mitchem, Sienna Mitchem, Jairadin Hairston, Michael White, Zachary Hill, and Noah Hawkins. She was also a great-great-grandmother to Dusty Vance.
During her illness she had the loving care of Nancy Bryant and Man ARH Home Health, Sonya Curry and Angie Adkins.
Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon Thursday, September 2, 2010, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home Chapel at Man with the Rev. Bryan C. Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, September 1, 2010, at the funeral home and one hour prior to services at the funeral home also.
Pall bearers will be David M. Corns, Joey Corns, Richard Linville, Michael White, Arthur Kirkendoll, Ben Timmons, Tootie Carter, and Jack McDaniels III.
Honorary pall bearers will be Donald “Pico” Standifur, Glen Hurley, Buzzy Vance, Ookie Fekete, Darius Simpkins, Alan Lusk, Steven Adkins, and Mike Roussel.
