Esther Jean Burgess
Of Robinette, WV
Esther Jean Burgess, 70, of Robinette, went to be with the Lord Thursday, August 19, 2010, from CAMC-Memorial Division at Charleston, after a long illness.
She was born March 24, 1940, in Boone Co., a daughter of the late Marion and Mary Murphy Bowen.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a special friend and nephew, Eugene Grimmette and her brother-in-law, Joe Miller.
Esther was a former cashier at various businesses in the Triadelphia area. She enjoyed reading, writing poems, fishing and visiting family and friends.
Those left to cherish her memory are her companion, Herbie Adkins of Robinette; one daughter, Sheila (George) Koutsunis of Lundale; 4 sons, Robert Burgess of Crown, Michael (Teresa) Burgess of KY, Chris Burgess of Man, and Steve (Kathy) Burgess of Jacksonville, FL; a very loving and caring sister, Teena Miller of Amherstdale; four brothers, James (Linda) Bowen of Robinette, Johnny (Vivian “Viv” who was a special sister-in-law and friend) Bowen of Accoville, Joey (Kathy) Bowen of Harts, and Ralph Bowen of Lorado; 13 grandchildren, Lisa Beaty, James Paynter, Amy Hunt, Jeremy Adkins, Becky Burgess, Michael Burgess, Daniel Burgess, Mathew Burgess, Andrew Burgess, Austin Burgess, Christopher Burgess, Kelli McKinney, and Kevin Koutsunis; several great-grandchildren; many special nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, August 23, 2010, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. Cecil McClellan officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Sunday at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home and one hour prior to services at the funeral home also.
Pall bearers will be family and friends.
