Obituary of Judy Darlene Cottle

Please share a memory of Judy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Judy Darlene (Adkins) Cottle, 63, of Fayetteville is kicking up some gold dust in Heaven following a heroic battle with cancer. Judy lost her battle at home in the late hours of Sunday, February 11, 2018, surrounded by her loving husband of 39 years, children, grandchildren, 3 brothers and 4 sisters.

Born February 28, 1954, in Marianna, Judy was the daughter of the late Everett Ray and Laura Maxine (McClure) Adkins.

Judy was a life long member of Lundale Freewill Baptist Church in Lundale. Along with her sister and brothers, she founded the Faith Gospel Singers and sang at many area churches. She let her light shine and was a witness for God to anyone she encountered. For over 30 years, Judy was a court reporter for the WV Supreme Court and worked in Fayetteville. She loved to camp, work crossword puzzles, spend time with her family, teach her granddaughters how to cook, and was a master of Farmville. Judy was an inspiration to many.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Carl Edward Cottle of Fayetteville; two daughters: Misty Maxine (McGee) Mehta of Shady Spring and Laura Shannon Marlene Cottle of Fayetteville; one son, Jason Ryan (Brandy) Cottle of Fayetteville; grandson, Austin Edward McGee of Cincinnati, OH; three granddaughters: Lila Darlene and  Sanjaya “Sunny” Maxine Mehta, both of Shady Spring and Alexis Marie Cottle of Fayetteville; special sons: Sanjay “Jay” Mehta and Toby Akers; three brothers: Larry R. Conley of Oak Hill; one aunt: Lorine (Adkins) McNeeley of Sharples; two uncles: Casey Adkins, Jr. of Lundale and Donald McClure of Lincoln County; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Carl E. and Betty J. (Smith) Cottle; two sisters-in-law: Deborah (Cottle) Warden and Carla (Cottle) Meredith, both of Fayetteville; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; her church family and a host of other relatives and friends.
