Obituary of Leon Earl Linville

Leon Earl Linville, 65, of Greenvalley, departed this life Friday, July 2, 2010, from St. Mary’s Medical Center at Huntington, after a long illness. He was born December 16, 1944, at Amherstdale, a son of Freda Lucille Moore Linville of Amherstdale and the late Casey George Linville. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, James Alfred Linville; and one sister, Karen Sue Linville. Leon was a retired coal miner formerly employed with Amherst Coal Company. He was also a previous employee of the Logan County Board of Education where he was a custodian at Man High School. Avidly interested in sports, Leon played tournament softball and coached Little League Baseball and Buddy League Basketball for several years in the Man area. An animal lover, Leon enjoyed the companionship of his dogs. He loved to listen to country music and work word search, jig saw, and crossword puzzles. Those left to cherish his memory, in addition to his mother, are one son, Richard Allen “PeeWee” (Lakein) Linville of Accoville; one daughter, Sheryl Jean (Steve) Bulmer of Jacksonville, FL; one sister, Pam Linville of Gilman Bottom; one brother, Howard “Butch” Linville of Mallory; three grandchildren, Kaitlyn Allison Linville of Accoville, Leah Marie Jonjock and Brandon Erik Bulmer, both of Jacksonville, FL; his ex-wife, Bonnie Kay Moore of Jacksonville, FL; several nieces and nephews; along with a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 7, 2010, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. P.J. Tomblin officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill. Visitation will be held from 12 Noon until 2 p.m. at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home also. Pall bearers will be friends and family. Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man is in charge of the arrangements.
