Obituary of Brookie Bell Hatfield Walls

Brookie Walls Of Davin, WV Brookie Bell Hatfield Walls, 87, of Davin, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, June 2, 2010, from her home after a short illness. She was born November 4, 1922, at Guyan, WV, the daughter of the late Robert and Nancy Farley Hatfield. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harland Walls; one daughter, Virgie Sue Hatfield; two grandchildren, Sharon Sue Hatfield and Gregory Eugene Walls; four sisters, Minnie Kennedy, Maggie Lawrence, Zelma Wade, and Lillian Hatfield; and one brother, Jesse Hatfield. She was a home maker and attended the Christian Free Will Baptist Church when she was able. Those left to cherish her memory are six sons, Timmy Walls and his wife, Connie, Daniel Walls and his wife, Sue, and Lindell Walls and his wife, Barbara, all of Coal Mountian, WV, Gregory Walls and his wife, Lisa, of Verner, Jana Walls and his wife, Trisha, of Erwin, NC, and Ronald Walls and his wife, Janet, of Oceana; four daughters, Welma Cales and her husband, Bobby, of Hinton, Kathy Russelle and her husband, Carl, of New Lenox, IL, Jane Parton of Wise, VA, and Joyce Kennedy and her husband, Terry, of Davin, WV; a special son-in-law, Hubert Hatfield of Coal Mountain, WV; 22 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren; along with a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 1p.m. Saturday, June 5, 2010, at the Christian Free Will Baptist Church at Christian, WV with Rev. Jackie Grimmett officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby, WV. Friends may call after 6 p.m. Friday at the church and one hour prior to services. Grandsons will serve as pall bearers. Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man is in charge of the arrangements.
