Patricia Lea “Patty” Morgan
Of Franklinton, NC
Patricia Lea “Patty” Morgan, 66, of Franklinton, NC formerly of Man, WV, went to be with her Lord Friday, April 30, 2010, from her home, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born March 20, 1944, at Braeholm, WV a daughter of the late Charles O’Neil and Virginia Stella Browning Vance.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gary “Soapy” Morgan.
Patty was a retired general manager for the Pizza Hut at Raleigh, NC. Before moving from the Man area, Patty worked at Man ARH, Man Community Health Foundation, and Dr. Reddy’s office. From 1974 until 1985, she was a Miss Softball America coach in the Man area. When in Man, Patty attended the Becco United Baptist Church at Becco.
Those left to cherish her memory are three children, Kimberlee “Kim” (William Tripp) Morgan of Franklinton, NC, Gary Michael “Mike” (Vicki) Morgan of Sanford, NC, and Deidra (Franklin) Goodman of Chapmanville, WV, one sister, Lily (Del) Toler of Santa Fe, TX; two brothers, Charles “Buzz” (Sue) Vance of Lundale, WV and Kenny (Laura) Vance of Houston, TX; five grandchildren, Gary Morgan and Eric Tripp, both of Franklinton, NC, Steven Morgan of Sanford, NC, and Alexandria Goodman and Candace Goodman, both of Chapmanville, WV; her mother-in-law, Ernestine Morgan of Fayetteville, NC; her brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Daniel and Naomi Morgan and June Morgan, all of Fayetteville, NC; many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 4, 2010, at the Becco United Baptist Church at Becco with Rev. Denver McClellan officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Visitation will be held from 6- 9 p.m. Monday at the Becco United Baptist Church at Becco and one hour prior to services.
Pall bearers will be family.
