Obituary of Vonnie Adaline Ferrell Lusk

Vonnie Adaline Ferrell Lusk Of Amherstdale, WV Vonnie Adaline Ferrell Lusk, 71, of Amherstdale went to be with the Lord and her husband, Landy, Saturday, April 17, 2010, from Logan Regional Medical Center, due to a long illness. She was born October 20, 1938, at Blair, a daughter of the late Corbet and Vennie Burgess Ferrell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Landy Lusk; five sisters, Mabel Hensley, Maxine Peters, Beulah Miller, Nora Adkins, and Bertha Sergeant; two brothers, Corbert “Joedad” Ferrell and James “Bud” Ferrell; and one granddaughter, Crystal Dawn Lusk. Vonnie was a member of the Pathway Church of God. She enjoyed life, attending church when she was able, and cooking. Devoted to her family, Vonnie loved spending time with her family and friends. Those left to cherish her memory are two children, Richard “Smiley” (Beverly) Lusk of Trace Fork and Kathy (Roger Thompson) Lusk of Mallory; two very special grandsons who were her pride and joy, Alan Joe Lusk of Amherstdale whom she reared and Nathan Richard Lusk of Trace Fork; many nieces and nephews; and one very special niece, Karen Woods and her daughter, Belinda “B.J.” Beaty. A celebration of her new life with Christ will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. Harrison Williamson officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens at Godby. Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home and one hour prior to services. Pall bearers will be Ronald McCoy, Paul Baldwin, Larry Woods, Aubrey Lusk, Doug Lusk, Wannie “Tinky” Lusk, James “Bobby” Lusk, and Larry Toler. Honorary pall bearers will be David Booth, Jason Beaty, James Lusk, Orlando Rogers, Brad Thompson, Roger Thompson Jr., Alan Lusk, Bobby Baldwin, Jessie Baldwin, and Carl Baldwin. Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man is in charge of the arrangements.
