Of Chapmanville, WV
Mary Ellen Vanover, 69, of Chapmanville formerly of West Hamlin departed this life Wednesday, March 10, 2010, from St. Francis Hospital at Charleston after a sudden illness.
She was born December 23, 1940, at Lorado, a daughter of the late Archie and Etta McComas Vanover.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Christine Maynard; and three brothers, Rev. Clovis Vanover, Johnny Vanover, and Eugene Vanover.
She was a home maker and was of the Baptist faith. Mary Ellen had a green thumb and grew beautiful flowers. She enjoyed reading.
Those left to cherish her memory are one son, Gregory Paul Vanover of Chapmanville; one sister, Virginia Poe of Huntington; nieces and nephews, Donald “Buck” (Debbie) Maynard of Accoville, Charlene (Harrison) Spaulding of Madison Creek, Rosella Fugate of Accoville, JoAnn (Dave) Curry of Delbarton, Nina (Bill) Marcum of Chapmanville, Sue (Darrell) Grimmett of Wheatfield, IN, Kathy (Bobby) Midkiff, Carol (Kenny) Edwards, Debbie (Virgil) Moore, Brenda (David) Turley, and David Poe, all of Huntington; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Sunday, March 14, 2010, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. John Viars officiating. Burial will follow in Maynard-Spaulding Cemetery at Madison Creek.
Friends may call one hour prior to services.
Pall bearers will be nephews.
