Mildred Laverne Grimmett
of Lorado, WV
Mildred Laverne Grimmett, 74, of Lorado, went to her heavenly home Saturday, March 13, 2010, from CAMC-Memorial Division after a long illness.
She was born March 30, 1935, at Richlands, VA, a daughter of the late Rufus Ely and Helen Mabe Helbert.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth Lane Grimmett; and two brothers, Raymond Helbert and Robert Helbert.
She was a home maker. When she was able, Mildred attended Becco United Baptist Church. Devoted to her family, she was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of almost 54 years, Raymond Grimmett of Lorado; two sons, Curtis Wayne Grimmett of Pardee and Robert (Della) Grimmett of Lorado; one sister, Fern Sarno of Chicago, IL; one brother, Reese Helbert of Long Beach, MS; five grandchildren, April Dawn (Michael) Creekman of Stollings, Kenya Lane (David) Mounts of Omar, Curtis Van Johnson of Van, Shanna Nasha Grimmett and Kenny Grimmett, both of Lorado; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. Denver McClellan officiating. Entombment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens at Richlands, VA.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Monday at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home and one hour prior to services.
Pall bearers will be family and friends.
