Of Lyburn, WV
Billie Jean Pritchard York, 58, of Lyburn, went to be with the Lord Monday, March 22, 2010, from Logan Regional Medical Center at Logan after a long illness.
She was born May 2, 1951, at Crites, a daughter of the late Charles Hascal and Lucille R. Redmond Pritchard.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Teddy Lee Pritchard; one nephew, Josey Pritchard; one niece, Cassandra Pritchard; and two very special brothers-in-law, Everett E. Hager, Jr. and Larry “Poely” Ellis.
She was a home maker. Billie Jean was a Christian who enjoyed visiting different area churches when she was able. Devoted to her family, she was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She loved spending time with her grandchildren especially her granddaughter Angel who spent a lot of time with her.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 41 years, Joe York of Lyburn; one daughter, Bonnie (Keith) Buchanon of Accoville; one son, Bobby Joe York at home; five grandchildren whom she adored, Angel Dawn Buchanon, Brittany Dawn Buchanon, and Kimberly Dawn Buchanon, all of Accoville, Kayla Dale York of Davin, and Dora Elizabeth Jo York of Accoville; one great-grandchild on the way; two sisters, Linda Lou Hager of Huntington and Ida Mae Ellis of Lenore; a special brother-in-law, Ernest York of Omar; a special uncle, Tom Pritchard of Lincoln County; two very special friends, Bonita (Cliff) Miller of Las Vegas, NV and Phyllis Goodman of Man; her doctors who took such good care of her, Dr. Kathy Harvey of Logan and Dr. Hatem M. Hossino of Charleston; a very special home health nurse, Barney Goins of Logan; many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, March 26, 2010, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. Barney Goins officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home and one hour prior to services.
