Obituary of Betty Lou Fields

Betty Lou Fields Of Amherstdale, WV Betty Lou Fields, 81, of Amherstdale, joined her husband in their Heavenly home on Thursday, February 22, 2018, leaving from her home, after a long illness. She was born on January 12, 1937, at Hamlin, the daughter of the late Ruth Elizabeth Porter Marsh. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Billy Fields; one son, Pete Fields; sister, Norma Jean Marsh; one brother, Arthur Marsh; one grandson, Daniel Gilley III; and one son-in-law, Richard Goodman. Betty was a nurses' aide who retired from Logan Regional Medical Center after 35 years of service. She was a long time member of the Man Church of God. Betty enjoyed puzzle books, playing games with her family, and taking care of her grandchildren. Before her illness, she bowled on a hospital supported bowling league and received several trophies over the years. Those left to cherish her memory are four daughters, Juanita Goodman of Six Mile, Barbara (Lindell) Walls of Coal Mtn., Virginia Fields of Martinsburg, and Amber Fields at home; three sons, Danny (Loretta) Fields of Atlanta, GA, and Robert and Rodney Fields, both at home; 11 grandchildren, Katrina (Nathan) Caserta of Accoville, Ron (Ginger) Hurley of Hedgesville, Susan Gilley of Martinsburg, Josh Gilley of Berkeley Springs, Heather (Jason) St. Clair of Beckley, Shane Walls of GA, Billy (Sarah) Fields of NC, Sean Fields of Atlanta, GA, Meagan Fields of Logan, Peyton Stringer at home; 10 great-grandchildren, Christopher (Brooke) Caserta of South Man, Richie Caserta of Accoville, Brandon Hurley and Breanna Hurley of Hedgesville, Madison Walls, Matt and Logan Brown, all of Coal Mtn., Benjamin Walls of Moncks Corner, SC, and Jack and Wesley Fields of NC; three great-great-grandchildren, Charleigh Conley of Accoville, Grayson Caserta of South Man, and due to arrive in March, Allyson Caserta; a very special friend with whom she worked many years, Edith Cox of Taplin; and several sisters and brothers along with a host of other relatives of friends. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, February 25, 2018, at the Man Church of God at Man with Rev. Donald Lafferty and Brother Bill Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby. Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Saturday at the church and one hour prior to services at the church also.
