Obituary of Ellen Lourene Ellis

Ellen Lourene Ellis, 73, of Kistler, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 16, 2018, leaving from CAMC-Memorial Division at Charleston, after a long illness.
She was born May 12, 1944, at Accoville Flats, the daughter of the late Everett and Freda Aileen Burton Gibson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Ralph, Ronnie, Freddie, and Ricky Gibson; and her grandparents, Charlie and Grace Gibson and Bessie Burton.
A registered nurse for 25 years, Lou was formerly employed with Broward General Hospital in Broward County, FL. She was a member of the Accoville United Methodist Church at Accoville. She enjoyed playing games on her computer and was an avid reader. Lou loved spending time with her family and her brothers.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 52 years, Albert "Bob" Ellis; daughter, Rhonda Ellis (Joseph) Valliere of Green Valley; two sons, Jeffrey (Diana) Ellis of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Shane Ellis of Kistler; one grandson, Dominic Cain Ellis of Lundale; sister, Regina Sue Rankin of Columbus, OH; brother, Everett "Poochie" (Judy) Gibson of Green Valley; sisters-in-law, Kay McCoy; Linda Gibson, Rose Slack, and Tammy Gibson; brothers-in-law, Bud Ellis and Bill (Sherry) Ellis, four nieces and five nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, January 19, 2018, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. Sharlene Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the funeral home also.
Pall bearers will be family and friends.
