Ervin "Tommy" Roark
Of Robinette, WV
Ervin "Tommy" Roark, 80, of Robinette, departed this life Thursday, June 19, 2014, from Cabell-Huntington Hospital, after a short illness.
He was born November 27, 1933, at West Jefferson, NC, the son of the late James Sr. and Ethel Stidham Roark.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James Roark Jr. and Billy Roark; and one sister, Beulah Adkins.
Tommy was a retired coal miner who retired from Arch of WV. He was a member of the UMWA local 5958. A faithful member of Lundale Freewill Baptist Church for 50 years, Tommy loved the Lord with all of his heart.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 55 years, Opal Arlene Brunty Roark; one son, Michael (Elva) Roark of Robinette; one daughter, Sherrie White and friend Trayci Allen of Taylorsville, NC; two sisters, Shirley (Johnny) Sansom of Cyclone and Dolly Wallace of Accoville; four grandchildren, Missy Dawn (Nick) Ellis of South Man, Mikie Paul (Kayla) Roark of Cyclone, Robert White of Conover, NC, and Jenifer (Jarrett) Killian of Claremont, NC; four great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Abbey, Chris, and Jacob; and many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, June 23, 2014, at the Lundale Freewill Baptist Church at Lundale with Rev. Bobby Adkins officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Sunday at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home and one hour prior to services.
Pall bearers will be Mikie Paul Roark, Robert White, Nick Ellis, Jarrett Killian, Johnny Sansom Jr. and Kevin Sansom.
