Bert Molnar Of Neibert, WV Bert Molnar, 90, of Neibert, went to his Heavenly home on Tuesday, September 12, 2017, leaving from Trinity Health Care at Logan, after a long illness. He was born on August 15, 1927, at Lorado, a son of the late Emery and Clara Nagy Molnar. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Lillian Short Molnar; his second wife, Gloria Molnar; one daughter, Susan Molnar; three brothers, Jim (Mary), John (Helen), and Joe (Cecelia) Molnar; three sisters, Pearl (Steve) Bodnar, Ann (Joseph) Buscanyi, and Clara (Tom) Borich; and his cat, Tiny. Bert was a coal miner who retired in 1992 after 43 years of service. He began his career at Lorado Mining Company but worked most of his 43 years at Amherst Coal Company and the various companies that bought out the original Amherst Coal Company. Bert was a member of the UMWA local 5958. A veteran, Bert proudly joined the Army at the age of 15 and was part of the Normandy Invasion during WWII. He received two Purple Hearts for wounds he received during his Army service in Europe. Bert was a faithful member of the Greenbranch Freewill Baptist Church for many years. An animal lover, Bert feed birds and had many canine and feline companions throughout the years. Several of his favorites were Tiny, Baby, Mitzi, and Sadie. Devoted to his family, he was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Those left to cherish his memory are two daughters, Kathy Molnar of Williamson and Lisa Long of Logan; four grandchildren, Chris (Michelle) Jarrell of Hanford, CA, Stacy Jarrell of Man, Brittany (Justin) Daniels of Lithia, FL, and Caleb (Danyell) Long of Melbourne, FL; seven great-grandchildren, Cody Jarrell, Kayci Jarrell, Dylan Jarrell, Gracie Moreland, Callie Daniels, Caroline Daniels, and Claire Daniels; his special new friend, Steve Ritz; and many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends. The family would like to extend their thanks to Trinity Health Care of Logan especially Amanda, Alma, Jetta, Teresa, and Nikki. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 16, 2017, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Brother Kenny Bevins officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby where military graveside rites will be conducted. Pall bearers will be family and friends. Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Friday at Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home and one hour prior to services also.
