Robert William Beddow
Of Accoville, WV
Robert William "Bobby" Beddow, 62, of Accoville, departed this life on Saturday, September 2, 2017, at his home at Accoville, after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born on May 1, 1955, in Logan County, a son of Deloris Margaret Chapman Beddow of Logan and the late William Godby Beddow.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one son Robert William "Robbie" Beddow II; and his grandparents, Eugene and Maxine Chapman and W.W. and Mattie Florence Beddow.
Bobby was a mining superintendant employed with ERP Environmental Fuels. He began his career in 1972 with Amherst Coal Company. For the next 43 years, Bobby worked for the various companies that bought what was once the original Amherst Coal Company. His whole career was spent mainly on Buffalo Creek with several years spent at Rum Creek. Bobby enjoyed traveling, riding his motorcycle, and collecting guns. His favorite pastimes were spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and weekends with his mother.
Those left to cherish his memory, in addition to his mother, are his wife, Rosalyn Grace Adkins Beddow; his children, Whitney (Chad) Preston of Chapmanville and Cortney (Brandon) White of Monroe County; grandchildren, Caleb Beddow, Bianca White, Gianna Preston, and Brandon Miles White; three brothers, Phillip (Jean Ann) Beddow of Charleston, Alan (Stephanie) Beddow of Morgantown, and Brian (Kristi) Beddow of Gilbert; his nieces and nephews, Ross, Cassie, and Paige Beddow, Patrick Beddow, and Caroline Margaret Beddow; and one great-nephew, Robbie Beddow along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, September 5, 2017, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. Rick Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home and one hour prior to services at the funeral home also.
Pallbearers will be his brothers, sons-in-law, and nephews.
