Stanley Paul Wells
Of Earling, WV
Stanley Paul Wells, 70, of Earling, joined his wife in their Heavenly home on August 10, 2017, leaving from CAMC-Memorial Division, after a sudden illness.
He was born on November 7, 1946, at Lyburn, a son of the late Marion William and Florence Jane Chapman Wells.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Linda Adkins Wells; nine brothers and four sisters-in-law, Lester and Mary Wells, Wilson and Delamae Wells, Ted and Donna Wells, James Wells, Buster Wells, Johnny and Alberta Wells, Dennis Ray Wells, and Coleman Wells; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Mae and Tilden Blair, Marie and Carl Chambers, Brenda Kay and Connie White, and Sharon Wells; sister-in-law, Lenoria "Kricket" Wells and Linda Johnson Wells; and son-in-law, Ray Adkins.
Stanley was a retired coal miner formerly employed with Pittston Coal Company. He was a proud member of the UMWA local 8454. Stanley enjoyed hunting, raising chickens, and sitting on the porch talking to friends and family.
Those left to cherish his memory are three daughters, Linda (Jamie Block) Wells of Proctor Bottom, Sharon Wells and Mary Wells Adkins, both of Earling; one son, Stanley Wells, Jr. of Earling; two brothers, Alonza (Bill) Wells of McConnell and Donald Wells of Lyburn; one sister, Delsie (Larry) Maynard of Earling; and three sisters-in-laws, Daley Wells of Wilkinson, Judy Wells of Low Gap, and Sharon Grace Wells of Lyburn; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 13, 2017, at the Bethlehem Freewill Baptist Church at Rita with Rev. Jody Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Thompson Cemetery at McConnell.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the church on Sunday also.
Pall bearers will be family and friends.
