Of Man, WV
Alta Jo Flowers, 84, of Man, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 26, 2017, leaving from the home of her daughter, Helen, at Seymour, TN, after a short illness.
She was born November 15, 1932, at Christian, a daughter of the late Melvin and Lura Justice Cyfers.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Flowers; one brother, Jack Cyfers; and two sisters, Blanche Cyfers and Faye Cyfers.
Jo was a retired employee of Man Appalachian Regional Hospital. She became a Christian on October 14, 1990 and became a member of the Man Church of the Nazarene on January 3, 1999.
Those left to cherish her memory are two children, Charles "Chuck" Flowers of Greenville and Helen Flowers of Seymour, TN; one sister, Alpha Walker of Charleston, SC; four grandchildren, Stephanie, Angie, Sandy, and Lisa; six great-grandchildren, Meaghan, Bridgett, Helena, William, Harrison, and Annie; many nieces and nephews, and her church family along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 30, 2017, at the Man Church of the Nazarene at Man with Rev. James B. Kittle and Rev. Ollie Parsons officiating.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services.
A private burial will be held at Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the Town of Man Fire Department, Attn: Bill Weese, Chief, P.O. Box 1022, Man, WV 25635 in honor of Jo.
Pall bearers will be members of the Man Volunteer Fire Dept.
