Obituary of Helen Marie Kilgore

Helen Marie Kilgore Of Davin, WV Helen Marie Kilgore, 77, of Davin, joined her husband in their heavenly home on Friday, June 9, 2017, leaving this world from CAMC-Memorial Division, after a long illness. She was born on September 27, 1939, in Logan County, a daughter of the late Alonzo Walding and Ada Marie Paynter Adkins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, James David Kilgore; one brother, Alonzo Adkins; and one sister, Erma Thompson. Helen worked as a mine clerk for 10 years at various area coal mines. She graduated in 1957 from Man High School which was the first graduating class in the present Man High School building. Prior to leaving this world, Helen was attending the Becco United Baptist Church which she dearly loved as her health allowed. She was a wonderful wife and mother who will be deeply missed. Those left to cherish her memory are two sons, David Shane Kilgore of Davin and Jeffrey James Kilgore of New Port News, VA; two grand-daughters, Kari and Jessica; two brothers, James Adkins of Fresno, CA and Gary Adkins of Chicago, IL; two sisters, Bethel Super of Chicago, IL and Judy (Danny) Mills of Riddles Branch; and several nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends. In honor of Helen's request her remains have been cremated. A memorial gathering will be held from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 17, 2017 at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man.
