A. Harry Bailey
Of Amherstdale, WV
Alfred Harry Bailey, 79, of Amherstdale, joined his wife in their Heavenly home on Saturday, May 6, 2017, leaving from his residence, after a long illness.
He was born on July 14, 1937, at Lorado, a son of the late Joseph Wade and Georgia Dean Workman Bailey.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife, Jo Ann Tomlin Bailey; and one sister, Beulah "Sissy" Fox.
Harry was a 1955 graduate of Man High School. After graduation, he went to work as a coal miner in Logan County. Harry was a member of the UMWA District 17. He retired from the coal mines after 45 years of hard work of which he loved every moment. Devoted to his family, the passion of his life was spending time with his children and grandchildren. Harry was a life long Christian and member of St. Edmund Catholic Church at Man. Harry lived a life dedicated to God and his whole family.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Harry Lee (Sharon) Bailey of Petersburg, MI, Penny Lynn (Gary) Mullins of Lowe Mountain, Robyn Hope Ooten of Amherstdale and her fiancé, Steve Bryant, Joseph Wade (Emiley) Bailey II of Parkersburg, and Auna Rain Bailey of Amherstdale; two sisters, Alice Kay (George) Whitt of Warren, OH and Peggy Jane (Ken) McCoy of Wake Forest, NC; one brother, Donald Gene Bailey of Bolt; 14 grandchildren, Shelly Lynn (Paul) Hebel, Michael Lee (Judy) Bailey, Gary Lee (Brandy) Mullins II, Rev. Timothy (Rev. Darla) Mullins, Brittany Ooten, Aric Chance Ooten, Taryn Fekete, Zachary Bailey, Tyler Bailey, Kristopher Bailey, Scarlet Bailey, Noah Bailey, Briar Bailey, and little Baby Bailey coming soon; great-grandchildren, Dylan Hebel, Blake Hebel, Sydney Hebel, Liam Bailey, little Lucy Bailey coming soon, Madison Mullins, Shelby Mullins, and Bellamy Mullins, Bradyn Mullins, Colin Mullins, and Colton Mullins; and many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. Timothy Mullins officiating. Entombment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man and one hour prior to services also.
Pall bearers will be Gary Lee Mullins II, Michael Bailey, Chance Ooten, Gary Mullins, Ross Osborne, and Logan Adkins.
Honorary pall bearers will be his great-grandsons.
