Obituary of Myrtle Edna Lamb
Please share a memory of Myrtle to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Myrtle Edna Lamb, 90, of Colcord, formerly of Bruno, went to be with our heavenly Father and Savior on April 16, 2017.
She was born on February 26, 1927, a daughter of the late Keenan and Etta Lee Grimmett Walls.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Lamb, Sr.; two sisters, Belva Glandon and Merlie Harrison; two brothers, Elmer Walls and Connie Walls; one son, Elva "Stubby" Lamb; one granddaughter, April Lamb Paynter; and one great-grandchild, Tiffany Raelynn Browning.
Myrtle was a loving mother who along with her husband provided a warm and stable home for her family. She attended the Sandlick Freewill Baptist Church when she lived at Bruno. After moving to Colcord she attended the Arnett Chapel at Arnett. Myrtle enjoyed cooking and will long be remembered for her banana pudding. She enjoyed visiting and staying a few days with family members. Myrtle never met a stranger; talking to everybody about anything and everything.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving children, Elza (Mary) Lamb of Bruno, Fred "Duke" (Patty) Lamb, Jr. of London, OH, Doug (Terry) Lamb of Colcord with whom she made her home, and Loretta Board of Verner; a special son who Myrtle and Fred helped raise, Kenny Smith of Bruno; a daughter-in-law, Tammy Lamb of Logan; one brother, Henry "Peck" Walls of Maybeury; ten grandchildren, Fred (Nikki) Lamb III, Jennifer (T.J.) Lamb, Douglas (Sherri) Lamb, Jr., Kimberly Lamb, Krissa (Aaron) Lamb, Ashley (Teddy) Browning, Crystal (Thomas) Stearns, Drake (Josie) Donnell, Ann (Dennis) Blankenship, and Jimmy (Brandi) Williamson; and 18 great-grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon on Friday, April 21, 2017, at the Sandlick Freewill Baptist Church at Sandlick with Rev. Bill Cantrell and Rev. Tilly Walls officiating. Burial will follow in Grimmett Cemetery at Sandlick.
Visitation will be held from 6-10 p.m. on Thursday at the Church and one hour prior to services at the church also.
