Of Lundale, WV
Collee McComas Gambill, 80, of Lundale, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and her husband, on April 10, 2017 surrounded by her family, after an extended illness.
She was born on December 17, 1936, at Braeholm, the daughter of the late Ellis, Sr. and Ona Holland McComas.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Grant Gambill; three brothers, Ellis McComas, Jr., Jack Douglas McComas, and John Henry McComas; eight sisters, Mable Ferguson, Macil Harvey, Marjorie Edwards, Era Doris Stumbo, Barbara Johnson, Bonnie McComas, Gloria Dale Frasher, and Sue Ferguson; and a special son-in-law, Richard Belcher.
Collee found her love for Jesus Christ at Lundale Freewill Baptist Church. She was of the Baptist faith and believed in Jesus and knew that Heaven would be her final home. In this life, she was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved to sing and especially karaoke with her kids and grandchildren. Collee was known as the BEST pizza maker to ever step foot into Gino's.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving children, Jackie Gayle Wasserman (Roger Foxx), Judy (Gary) Bowen, Grant (Barbara) Gambill, Tony (Kathy) Gambill, Cheryl (Namon) Lester, Colleen (Ricky) Clark, and Gary (Rebecca) Gambill; two sisters, Mary (James) Mullins and Ernie (Ron) Cutshall; a special sister/niece, Debbie (Larry) Sturgell whom she always claimed as her baby; two special sisters-in-law, Ramona McComas and Rene McComas; ten grandchildren, Gary Max (Stacy) Bowen, II, William Craig (Angela) Bowen, Brandi Nicole Canterbury, Tiffany Rose (Jason) Caserta, Candace Danielle Box (Chuck Thompson), Stacie Noel (Matthew) Ellis, Blair Gambill, Jessica Paige Gambill, Grant Tyler Gambill, and Ashton Blake Gambill; 23 great-grandchildren, Gary Max, III and Bella Claire Bowen, Caden William, Nathaniel David and Madelyn Kathleen Bowen, Bryson Cole and Dylas Hayes Canterbury, Marcus Cameron, Joshua Ryan, Tori Brooke Honaker, Diana Brooke and Carly Diaha Caserta, Cheyenne Natalia, Aurora Sage, and Raven Gage Thompson, Braden and Ashton Gage Cline, Kadence Brielle, and Kinzley Morgan, Sophia Lauren Phillips, Madison Camielle and Oliver Matthew Ellis, and Lynlee Octavia Gambill, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, April 13, 2017, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Friends may call one hour prior to services at the funeral home also.
Pall bearers will be her son, grandsons, and sons-in-law.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dignity Hospice especially Carolyn "Pring" Robinson, Keisha Matson, and Harold McMillen, Jr. for the great care and love they gave to our Mom.
Dementia may have taken the memories of her family but her family will forever cherish the memories of their mommy, grandma, and great-grandma.
