Esta Burgess
Of Robinette, WV
Esta Burgess, 96, of Robinette, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 12, 2017, surrounded by her loving family and friends.
She was born May 15, 1920, at Nellis, a daughter of the late Luis and Sara Margaret Dobos Kasey.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Burgess, Sr.; four sons, Wellington (Gloria) Burgess, William Burgess, David Burgess, and Dewey Burgess, Jr.; one grandson, James Baisden; and all four of her siblings.
Sister Esta loved the Lord and Crown Freewill Baptist Church which was her second home for over 50 years and where she was recognized as the Mother of the Church. A Christian for 60 years, Esta loved "letting her light shine" by witnessing to everyone she met. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her family. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and friend. An inspiration to everyone she met, Esta's devotion to the Lord, sharp wit, and sense of humor will long be remembered.
Those left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Genevieve (Eddie) Osborne of Lorado and Debbie (Carydale Amburgey) Huffman of Robinette; a very special sister, Katy Casey; her Pastor who she loved as a son, Rev. Charles Vance; two special daughters-in-law, Thelma Burgess of Neola and Karen Burgess of Amherstdale; 11 grandchildren, Billy, Aaron, April, Becky, Michelle, Shannon, David Lee, Melissa, Chuck, Tiffany, and Christopher; 21 great-grandchildren, Ian, B.J., Lily, Caitlyn, Little Davy, Little Aaron, McKenna, Cody, Patrick David "Bounce", Ashton, Kaden, Myleigh, Haley, T.J., Kristan, Jace, Jenna, Baby David, Brooke, Jordan, and Darian; one great-great-grandson, Dawson; many nieces and nephews; and her brothers and sisters in church; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 16, 2017, at the Crown Freewill Baptist Church at Crown with her Pastor Charles Vance officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Thursday at the church also.
Pall bearers will be her Grandsons, Aaron Burgess, Patrick Adkins, Kaden Dickerson, T. J. Chambers, Cody Albright, and Jack Daniels.
Honorary pall bearers will be Eddie Osborne and Rev. Charles Vance.
