Obituary of Florence Jean Johnson

Florence Jean Johnson Of Kistler, WV Florence Jean Johnson, 83, of Kistler, departed this life on Wednesday, February 22, 2017, at home, after a long illness. She was born on April 8, 1933, at Harts Creek, a daughter of the late John Sherman and Rita Powers Farley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Johnson; one son, Ricky Samson; one daughter, Kathy Samson; four sisters, Pauline Farley, Beatrice Toth, Juanita Cook, and Leona Farley; and two brothers, Grant and Lanthan "June" Farley. Florence was a home maker and a great cook. She enjoyed playing Bingo and dancing. Florence loved spending time with her family. Those left to cherish her memory are her long time companion, Charlie Johnson; nine children, Charles Samson, Cecil "Sam" (Janet) Samson, Carmelita (Kenny) Osborne, Ted (Lena) Samson, Alta (Norman) Adkins, Patricia O'Neal, Hope Johnson, Tammy Pieschel, and Chris "Buddy" Johnson; 20 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lucian (Phyllis) Farley and Larry (Betty) Farley; and a host of other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 Noon Saturday, February 25, 2017, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man where the speakers will be family and friends. Friends may gather one hour prior to services. In honor of Florences's request, her remains have been cremated.
