Of Crown, WV
Tommy R. Doty, 66, of Crown, went to his heavenly home on Friday, February 3, 2017, leaving from his home, after a sudden illness.
He was born April 23, 1950, at Crown, a son of the late Ernest Henry, II and Beatrice Virginia Porter Doty.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Gail Doty Maynard; and one brother, Ernest "Junebug" Doty, III.
Tommy was a 1968 graduate of Man High School. He was a coal miner who retired after 28 years of service. Tommy was a member of the UMWA. He also worked at Pineville Paving and Excavating for 10 years. He enjoyed carpentry work at home as well as for others in need. A talented musician; Tommy could play the piano and guitar as well as sing. He played in several area bands in his younger years. He loved spending time with his family especially his six grandchildren.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 46 years, Tonnia Jean Brown Doty; two children, Kathy (Tony) Bradford of Saulsville and Tommy "Tad" (Angie) Doty of Crown; six grandchildren who were the light of his life and apple of his eye, Tyler, Justin, and Payton Bradford and Tori, Laci, and Trace Doty; one brother, Mike (Tammy) Doty of Crown; a sister-in-law, Ginger Doty; a brother-in-law, Leroy Maynard, Sr.; a special niece and nephew, Lisa Doty Weese and Larry Doty; several other sisters-in-laws, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, February 10, 2017, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. Leroy Maynard, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to services.
Pall bearers will be family and friends.
