Orville "Blackie" Browning, Jr.
Madison Creek-Lyburn, WV
Orville "Blackie" Browning, Jr., 86, of Madison Creek-Lyburn, passed away on January 20, 2017, at his home, after a long illness.
He was born on March 12, 1930, in Logan County, a son of the late Orville Roscoe, Sr. and Lenora Jean "Cardie" Buchannon Browning.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Perry Browning; son, Roger Browning; grand-daughter, Jennifer Browning; sisters, Edith Browning Merritt and Belle Browning Hagar.
Blackie was a retired coal miner. He loved 4-wheeling, visiting family and friends, meeting new people, and breakfast at McDonalds.
Those left to miss him are one daughter, Cynthia (Timothy) McClung of McConnell; two sons, Roscoe (Debbie) Browning of Lyburn and Steve (Lisa) Browning of Kenly, NC; one sister, Naomie (Ed) Browning of Worthington, KY; one brother, Earl (Sue) Browning of Madison Creek; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-grand-daughter; and many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 24, 2016, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home where a funeral service will begin at 7:30 p.m. with Rev. Keith McClung officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family asks you to eat breakfast at McDonalds in memory of Blackie.
To honor Blackie's wishes, his remains will be cremated.
