Oscar Adkins
of Crown, WV
Oscar Joseph Adkins, 78, of Crown, departed this life on Wednesday, January 4, 2017, at his home, after an extended illness.
He was born February 12, 1938, at Blair, a son of the late Dave and Elsie Marie Adkins Sexton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one grand-daughter, Melissa Adkins.
Oscar retired from Ford Motor Company in 1985 after 32 years of service. He was a member of the United Auto Workers of America. He was veteran of the U.S. Army and was a lifetime member of the Masons. Oscar was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and watching his grandsons play football.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 55 years, Mary Adkins; three children, David (Deann) Adkins of Mikado, MI, William (Patty) Adkins of Walled Lake, MI, and Debi (Johnny) Midkiff of Branchland; 10 grandchildren, Amanda, Ashley, Amber, Autumn, Christopher, Keila, Kasie, Brittany, Derrick, and Ty; and many great-grandchildren along with a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 Noon Saturday, January 7, 2017, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. Leroy Maynard, Jr., Rev. Harry "Buddy" Hager, and Brother Daniel "Boone" Simpkins officiating. Entombment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens' Mausoleum.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until 12 Noon.
