Glynn Edward Pennington
of Davin, WV
Glynn Edward Pennington, 80, of Davin, went to his Heavenly home on Tuesday, December 20, 2016, leaving from Cabell-Huntington Hospital, after an extended illness.
He was born on January 7, 1936, at Myra, a son of the late Hughie and Evia Ethel Mullins Pennington.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Endicott; and two brothers, Cletis and David Pennington.
Glynn was a coal miner who retired from Amherst Coal Company after 23 years of service. He was a member of the Crown Greater Vision Church. Glynn enjoyed reading his Bible, wood working, and fishing. Devoted to his family, Glynn was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 34 years, Patricia Ann "Pat" Pennington; his only son, Edward Allan Pennington of Parkersburg; six daughters, Glenna (Terry) Simpkins of Lebanon, OH, Evia (Danny) Mullins of Chapmanville, Myrna (Randy) Howell of London, KY, Sheila (Timmy) Allen of Davin with whom he made his home, Sandra (Steven) Hammonds of Greenville, and Pamela (Chuck) Mayse of South Bloomingfield, OH; three sisters, Jean Gibson of KY, Aleta Maynard of SC, and Margaret (Jack) Bell of MI; one brother, Jimmy Pennington of OH; a special friend and mother of his first four children, Thelma Stephens of Ravenswood; 20 grandchildren and Jackson due to arrive on Jan. 7, 2017; 11 great-grandchildren and Nathaniel due to arrive March 8, 2017; and many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, December 23, 2016, at the Crown Greater Vision Church at Crown with Rev. Randy Harvey and Rev. Thomas Booth officiating. Burial will follow in Bragg Cemetery at Brushy Fork.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the church and one hour prior to services also.
Pall bearers will be family and friends.
