Cora Grimmett
of Lundale, WV
Cora Grimmett, 74, of Lundale, joined her husband in their Heavenly home on Wednesday, December 7, 2016, leaving from her earthly home at Lundale, after an extended illness.
She was born February 3, 1942, at Sterns, KY, a daughter of the late Roy and Ethel Gibson Coffey.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Grimmett; her beloved daughter, Joyce Grimmett; two brothers, Jay and James Coffey; and two sisters, Geneva Beckett and Juanita Katterenich.
Cora was a home maker and a devoted wife and mother who loved her family with all of her heart. She had an amazing talent for making the best pumpkin rolls that you have ever tasted. A faithful and dedicated member of Greenbranch Freewill Baptist Church at Man, Cora served as the President of the Ladies Aide. Her passion was serving the Lord and she spread God's love to everyone she met.
Those left to cherish her memory are two sons, Ricky Lee Grimmett of Lundale and Mark Grimmett of Clayton, NC; her brothers and sisters, Roy "Roger" (Joyce) Coffey, Bill (Jan) Coffey, Alvin (Diane) Coffey, Hazel (Sherman) Chambers, and Carrie Steinke; her grandchildren, Alexis Vanover, Haleigh (Brandon) Harold, Ricky Gene (Brittany) Grimmett, Michael Grimmett, Carly Cook, Leanne Kilgore, and Becky Anderson; her great-grandchildren, Tate, Tori, McKenzie, Mikie, Christopher, Steven "Bubby" Jr., Grayson, Rayland, and arriving in January 2017 Little Miss Bellamy; nieces and nephews, Tina, Scotty, Rodney, Angie, Melissa, Matthew, Heather, Darlene, Linda, Kathy, Patti, and Jackie; along with a host of great-nieces and great-nephews; and special friends, Rose Slack, Kimberly Vance, and Austin and Destinee.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, December 12, 2016, at the Greenbranch Freewill Baptist Church at Man with Rev. Alfred "Butch" Cobb and Rev. Michael Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Sunday at the church and one hour prior to services.
Pall bearers will be Roger Albright, Les Cochran, David Mullins, Timmy Osborne, B.A. Anderson, and the men of Greenbranch Freewill Baptist Church.
Honorary pall bearers are Ricky L. Grimmett, Mark Grimmett, Ricky Gene Grimmett, Michael Grimmett, and Brandon Harold.
